Toris adventures while studying abroad! |
lunes 1.24.2011:Todays something new was in the category of food, which is my favorite! We ate Chirimoya’s! For lunch we ate our soup and salad as usual and then Marcos comes out to the table with these little green fruits that I had never seen before. Then he proceeds to open it up like a banana or something else with a soft shell and then splits it in half and its the inside with a spoon, spitting out these huge black seeds ever so often. I had never seen this fruit before, let alone seen anyone eat a fruit like that before. So he asked me and roomate if we wanted to try and we I thought to myself, if its edible we are trying it! So we did and I am so glad because it was delicious! It is sort of like a pear and a plumb but looks like a white fish inside.. welp, I didn’t make that sound too tempting but trust me it is good! They are a tropical fruit from South America, Marcos said, but they are really popular in Southern Spain.Anyways, that was my something new for the day and boy was it tasty! In fact, I just might have another one or lunch tomorrow, they are like candy in fruit form!
